Kaiju No 8 Season 1 Episode 4

Summary:
Kafka is compelled to use his abilities throughout the test, even if it means exposing his secret, due to an unforeseen event. Kafka Hibino asks Leno Ichikawa to include him, and Leno says he will back him up. They get some odd looks and laughs, but they choose to follow Kikoru Shinomiya and provide help. However, Kikoru is unbeatable; she kills every Yoju and then confronts the Honju. She kills the animal by photographing it inside the mouth that she opened with a grenade she threw at its back. Kafka is upset that she truly finished the test so quickly, and the test is declared over. Kikoru is resilient, according to Mina Ashiro, and Soshiro Hoshina concurs, noting that although they anticipated 30 students to drop out, her presence prevented any students from doing so and kept the harm to a minimum. After seeing a fresh Kaiju behind her that points a finger at her and pierces her chest, Kikoru decides to go again and make fun of Kafka once more. Meanwhile, Leno and Kafka are worn out on the ground. Even though Kikoru teases Kafka relentlessly, he continues to be in awe of her. The monsters that thought the idea had been defeated regenerate, and Leno is on the verge of agreeing. After this, Kikoru struggles to stand up because of her injuries, and in the process, she sees that several other kaiju are able to communicate. The kaiju sees her and continues to cause her mishaps as if with invisible blades. Having discovered that the kaiju was getting stronger with time, Soshiro, who is searching, observes that this is not a potential that kaijus would typically possess, and he infers that Mina and he are the easiest ones who might want to kill it alone. After that, Mina begs Soshiro to kill that beast. Following this, Soshiro orders the test takers to leave. Despite her wounds, Kikoru is enraged by this since the monster should have been hurting more people by the time the defense force arrived. She also recalls how her father always expected perfection from her. She tries to defeat the kaiju in order to earn her father's approval, but she is easily pushed away. The movie then flashes back to her previous classmates' awe at her abilities, as she achieved first place on her exam. Kikoru, the young woman, is delighted with her accomplishment and begs to tell her father about it. However, as he had been expecting this from her, he is unhappy with his daughter's joy and reminds her to strive for perfection once more. Regardless of her efforts, the kaiju continues to regenerate, and at every attack she makes, Kikoru recalls her father's words. Kikoru, Soshiro, and Konomi, who are watching this, start to lose hope, and Kikoru even starts to mentally apologize to her father. Kikoru is perplexed as to how Kafka managed to arrive so fast, even though she has only just been saved. Kafka informs her that she has done an excellent job of continuing to weaken the kaiju as she is defenseless and about to be attacked by it. Kafka turns into a kaiju and continues to compliment her work, but he doesn't give her any answers. All the remaining members of the protection force, who had previously stopped fighting, hurried to leave the test location. Kafka discovers that Kikoru is still inside, wanting to fight, while they ensure everyone's safety. Kafka has already moved on from attempting to retain Kikoru before Leno can even make up his mind about what to do. He worries that Kafka will change and screen his identity and be murdered, but he still admires his friend's bravery. Kikoru is worried as Kafka metamorphoses into a kaiju, but Kafka urges her to keep this a secret. The kaiju attacks them before Kikoru can respond, but Kafka promises to fix everything as soon as he kills it. Although Konomi doesn't know it's him, she tells Soshiro and Mina about the unexpected surge of energy she feels coming from Kikoru and Kafka. Although Soshiro is also tormented by this, he believes Kaiju no. 8 to be the cause. Kafka tries his best to defeat his foe, but in an effort to end the fight quickly, he also tries to do it as soon as possible, which he informs the opposing kaiju himself as he smashes him to the ground. Kafka then obliterates the kaiju as he punches his opponent, almost killing Kikoru in the process. Kafka understands that the kaiju won't be able to recover from the severe harm he has caused, even if it can regenerate. Kafka's predictions turn out to be correct as the monster begins to regenerate but fails to do so. This kaiju gives rise to an after beast, but Kafka has no trouble overcoming it. Then, he grins at Kikoru and switches back into a human form, at which point Kafka sternly warns her not to expose herself to such dangers once more. Leno reveals Kafka at this point and berates him for disclosing his abilities. Kafka attempts to persuade himself otherwise, but he is unsuccessful. Seeing this, Kikoru continues to be anxious but falls because she is too worn out to try to explain the situation. Following this, Mina and Soshiro eventually arrive. The kaiju are assaulting the area where Soshiro and Mina are. He surveys the region in an effort to comprehend the events, but he is still weighed down by what occurred. He is next told that Kafka, Leno, and Kikoru merely showed up at a nearby evacuation shelter. He looks around at his surroundings and asks Mina what she thinks about Kikoru despite her power. Soshiro wonders on his own if this kaiju's attack and Kaiju no. 8 are connected because they both left similar tracks. At the hospital, Leno thinks Kafka is fortunate to have such minor injuries and that Kikoru is in good shape as well. As he contemplates himself, Kafka admits that if he goes too far, he might lose a lot more, but that his passion could make him forget such things and express gratitude to Leno for being a wonderful buddy. But they were taken aback when Mina suddenly entered the room without warning, paying close attention to their talk and actions. She expresses gratitude for their assistance in rescuing Kikoru, and while Kafka is reluctant to speak to her, he eventually refrains from doing so because he wants to do so after becoming a troop member. That evening, Kaiju No. nine looks at the news and learns that the kaiju he sent out had killed nobody, and he can't believe that Mina could be that powerful. After quickly receiving a moniker that reprimands him to get back on course, he changes into a person to work for Monster Sweeper Inc. However, sometimes his disguise breaks down.
