Although he is not quite a full member of the defense pressure, Kafka is now a member of it. But Hoshina informs him that he has three months to prove himself before he is let go. Hibino appreciates Leno Ichikawa's recommendation that he finish his evaluations. Following this, Leno thinks Kafka had become more trustworthy, but the truth will be revealed tomorrow, as Kafka is reluctant to receive his test results. Kafka pictures him and Mina Ashiro battling alongside each other in the defense force as he prepares to read the letter containing his result. Shortly after that, Kikoru Shinomiya is officially made a member of a protection force squad by Mina. Despite the fact that Kikoru seems happy with her accomplishment, she still feels accountable for Kafka's failure to pass the exam since he had saved her and Mina had switched to praising her instead. Nonetheless, she continued to be concerned that Kafka might be a kaiju. Kafka enters the room shortly after this notion, arriving late and offering a meek apology. Mina then thinks back to around the time when the defense force had to discuss the examinees in a meeting, with a focus on Kafka's results. However, before she could express that aloud, Soshiro Hoshina cut her off and said he was willing to accept Kafka despite his low scores because of his amusing personality, which Konomi Okonogi reprimanded him for. Mina then returned to the present, saying that she had Kafka not attend the ceremony because he had been well-liked as a cadet. Iharu Furuhashi is shocked that Kafka passed the exam after seeing this. Kafka and Mina stare at each other for a few moments. Following this, Mina declares that the number of dangerous kaijus has been growing and that, despite the possibility that her new allies could die, she has faith that they will support her in her fight with their combined strength. Kafka suddenly addresses Mina with the help of her first phone call, assuring her that he will always be by her side, much to the surprise of the audience. He is then taken aback because he had overlooked that he had to address his childhood friend previously, which leads to her reluctance (before everything) to punish him for this. When Soshiro sees this, he laughs aloud, but he is taken aback when he notices Mina's grin. It is then revealed that Soshiro had other reasons for outsmarting Okonogi, but Okonogi softly informs him that his reasons for bringing Kafka along were likely not the best. Soshiro lowers his assumption that Kafka had a relationship to Kaiju after witnessing him performing push-ups. Kafka and other people joined the defense force eight months ago, and I was resolved to learn the truth. Leno's capture skills are being honed, and it's found that he's improved his launched force to 18%. Looking at this, Soshiro is taken aback by Leno's quick improvements. Iharu is also practicing with Leno, but he is more competitive with him since he was happy to learn that his released pressure was 20% higher than his. However, Kikoru outperforms them both by releasing a force of 55% and managing to take down all of the targets in a mere 1 2 second. When she makes a snide remark about her abilities, Leno and Iharu get enraged. Despite all of this, Kafka is enjoying himself with his force rising from 0 to at least 1% and is delighted to inform Kikoru about this, but she doesn't appear to give it much thought. Even though he is content with himself, Soshiro doesn't hesitate to warn him that, with that released force amount, he could be easily fired in less than three months. Haruichi and Aoi are next in line, and there are indications of rivalry between them as Aoi announces that he has ultimately succumbed to Haruichi's force. Despite this, Konomi and Soshiro are still pleased with their junior's performance. The guys in the group are taking a bath that evening. Despite the fact that Kafka is attempting to open up and share his problems with his fellow soldiers, the animosity between Leno and Iharu persists. Kafka instructs them to cease fighting over trivial topics while yet flaunting his own physique, but he also mocks him for his fat tummy. Aoi is curious as to what's happening while listening to their screams, and seeing his muscle mass, Iharu and Leno's disagreements come to a swift conclusion. But nonetheless, Iharu restarts the conversation by asking his fellow soldiers why they chose to join the defense force. Next, he demonstrates that he was saved by Mina in the past and has always loved her and the others. After that, Kafka tells the others about his personal motivations and reveals that he and Mina were childhood friends, which surprises everyone even if they are still curious about her private life. Soon after, Kikoru and Hakua emerge from the bath to find the men's group (with the exception of Leno) all on the ground. Not long after that, Kafka remembers what Soshiro told him about being fired within three months if he continued at his current pace. I meet Kafka alone in Soshiro and he confesses that he has been hearing Kafka talk about Mina. Kafka then makes it known that he is committed to battling Mina. However, Soshiro informs Kafka that he is also committed to maintaining his position. A kaiju breaks in during the night, and Kafka learns from Soshiro that this is his first task. The newly-appointed members of the protection force are included in the bus traveling to the vicinity of the monster, and Soshiro reminds them of their duty as they acclimate and get ready for their first task.
