Summary;

Kafka Hibino has all but abandoned his goal of joining the anti-Kaiju "defense pressure. " He is now employed in Kaiju easy-up, where he disposes of the bodies of dead Kaiju and remembers with regret the moments he spent with his adolescent friend Mina Ashiro, who is the captain of the third unit of the protection force. Despite the defensive pressure, a Kaiju materializes in Yokohama and is ultimately slain. Kafka The frame is then sent to Hibino's boss for cleaning. They begin the cleanup, and the supervisor soon notifies Kafka that a niche has opened up and moves him to the intestines. Kafka is in favor of it, but he has no desire. On the television that night, Kafka could still smell the intestines in bed. The news was about Mina Ashiro, the captain of the third division of the defense forces, and her extraordinary talent for her age. Kafka was reminded of a pledge he had made with her when they were younger, but he was also irritated that they had become so unique. The day after today, Kafka is added to a new part-timer Leno Ichikawa, who is trying to join the defense pressure. They tell Leno that Kafka also attempted to join the defense pressure, but ultimately stayed with them for good. As he got older and it became more difficult for him, Kafka claims he gave up. Leno feedback: he's not the kind to give up, and he can't recall that excellent decision. The supervisor gives each team outstanding responsibilities as they approach the Kaiju, assigning Leno to intestines, which makes Kafka snort, but the manager also assigns Kafka to it because he excels at cleaning intestines. At lunch, Kafka and Leno fought over what to eat, and Kafka gave Leno vitamins and nostril plugs to help him tolerate the odor better. Leno expresses his gratitude to Kafka for helping him on his first day, and he also tells him that the defense force had increased the age limit for recruits to 33. However, as he is about to leave, a little monster Yoju appears, but Kafka manages to ward Leno away before he is devoured. While he restrains the monster, he instructs Leno to flee and seek assistance. Once more, Kafka is reminded of his youth with Mina and how they both chose to join the defense army in order to combat the Kaiju. A few seconds later, the Yoju had easily defeated Kafka and was on the verge of eating him when Leno reappeared and attacked it with a sign. As the Yoju is prepared to devour Leno, Mina, and the third Unit, Leno explains that he sent the alert and that if he had fled, he would have been unable to join the defense Forces. Without any difficulties, the monster is killed by Mina and the third Unit, and they then move on to search the area for additional Yoju creatures. Leno later informs Kafka at the Minami comprehensive medical facility that he would have been useless if he hadn't targeted him and believed that he actually wants to fight for the protective pressure. Kafka accepts this and decides to try, but then he notices a little kaiju flying above him. The monster enters Kafka's mouth, turning him into a Kaiju, before Kafka can respond. An elderly man sees them and issues a warning, leaving both Kafka and Leno speechless. They choose to flee, knowing that Kafka may be killed. Later, Mina soaks in her bathtub and thinks about how Kafka had promised to be by her side in the fight against Kaiju but had lied. She agrees to send her team when she gets a call requesting Kaiju's presence at the health facility.
